What conditions does acupuncture treat?

You can think of meridians (distinct pathways on the body utilized in the practice of acupuncture) like a system roads and highways for the body. When the traffic is moving you have a smooth and steady flow of cars going each direction, but when there is a traffic jam the flow gets backed up creating stagnation. Stagnation in the body leads to all sorts of dysfunction and pain. The acupuncture needle is like the traffic cop in this scenario - helping to encourage the flow in the right direction to get things moving again in your body. We are just giving your body a message with the needle, it’s up to your body to move the cars (i.e. fix itself).
